Our Story

The Pop Shop opened its doors over 20 years ago with a simple idea: build the kind of hobby store that the people who run it would actually want to shop at. A place with deep inventory, knowledgeable staff, fair prices, and a genuine sense of community. Two decades later, that idea still drives everything we do.

What started as a comics and trading card shop has grown into one of Northern Ohio's most comprehensive hobby destinations — carrying trading card games, sealed collectibles, comic books, tabletop and RPG products, Funko Pops, miniatures, and more. We've added product lines as the hobby world has grown, but the core of what we are hasn't changed: a local shop run by hobbyists, for hobbyists.

We run a full weekly event calendar, operate a buy/trade program, and maintain one of the largest TCG singles inventories in the region. Our regulars have been coming in for years — some of them since the very beginning — and new faces walk through the door every week. Both feel equally at home here, and that's exactly how we like it.

What to Expect When You Visit

If it's your first time in, here's what you'll find: a well-organized store with clearly labeled sections, staff who are approachable and genuinely knowledgeable, and a relaxed atmosphere that doesn't feel intimidating whether you're a veteran hobbyist or someone who's never set foot in a hobby shop before.

We have in-store gaming tables available on event nights and welcome casual play during store hours when space permits. If you're coming in specifically to play, it's worth checking the event calendar ahead of time so you know what's running.
