The POP! Shop has been buying and trading Trading Card Games, Comic Books, and select Collectibles for over 20 years. Whether you're liquidating a massive Magic collection, moving on from a long run of back issues, or just clearing some shelf space — we're here for it.
We pride ourselves on offering fair, transparent, good-faith quotes for your items. To make the process smooth for everyone, please take a moment to review our buying policies before bringing your collection to the counter.
Large collections welcome. If you're bringing in significant volume, it helps to call ahead so we can set aside dedicated staff time to evaluate everything properly. Walk-ins are always welcome for smaller lots.
Our Buying Policies
The collectibles market moves fast, and prices change daily. Here's how we approach every transaction — no surprises, no runaround.
1 How We Appraise Your Items
- Market Reality, Not Wishlist Pricing We work from current, verified sold listings and aggregated market data — like TCGPlayer Market Price — as our baseline. We know it's tempting to check the highest eBay listing and expect that number, but unsold asking prices don't reflect what things actually move for. We'll always show you what we're seeing.
- Condition Matters More Than You Think A card or comic that looks sharp at a glance might have micro-scratches, edge wear, or spine ticks that affect the grade — and the value. Our staff are trained to catch these things, and we'll always walk you through our assessment so nothing feels like a mystery.
- Every Collection Is Different We don't do flat percentages. Offers are built around condition, current demand, and what we actually need on the shelf right now. If we're completely sold out of a staple, we might pay more for it. If we have a hundred copies already, we'll be honest about that too. It's not a formula — it's a conversation.
2 The Process: What to Expect
- Please Sort by Set and Rarity This one is huge for us and will make a real difference in how quickly we can evaluate your collection. Please group your cards by set first — every Zendikar card together, every Odyssey card together, and so on — then sorted by rarity within each set. Sorted collections move through our process significantly faster, which means less waiting around for you.
- Drop-Offs for Large Collections For larger collections, we may ask you to leave the items with us so our buyers can evaluate them thoroughly without rushing. We'll issue you a drop-off receipt listing everything left in our care.
- Right of Refusal We reserve the right to decline purchasing or trading any item at any time, for any reason — including inventory limits, condition concerns, or market volatility. We'll always be upfront about why.
3 Store Credit vs. Cash
- Store Credit Pays More We generally offer a higher payout when you take your trade-in as store credit rather than cash. If you're planning to put it back into the hobby anyway, it's usually the smarter move.
- How Store Credit Works Credit is applied directly to your POP! Shop Account and is available to use immediately — or save it for an upcoming release.
- Cash Payouts Cash buyouts are subject to available funds on hand. For very large collections, a scheduled pickup may be required. We'll coordinate this with you at the time of drop-off.
4 The Legal Stuff — Our Security Policy
- Valid ID Required You must be 18 or older and present a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver's License or State ID) to sell or trade with us. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian who assumes full responsibility for the transaction.
- Declaration of Ownership By selling or trading to us, you'll be required to sign a form legally stating that you are the sole and rightful owner of the items being sold, and that they are not stolen property. This protects you, us, and our community.
- All Transactions Are Final Once a cash payout is issued or store credit is applied to your POP! Shop Account, the transaction is complete and cannot be reversed. Please make sure you're happy with the offer before we finalize anything.
