Summer is right around the corner, and here in Sandusky, that means it is time to honor the fallen, fire up the grill, and gather with you all to revisit old memories and make new ones. Beat the Traffic, Join the Party

If you are a local, you already know the drill: the annual Sandusky Memorial Day parade marches right down US Route 250 from the Ohio Veterans Home to Oakland Cemetery. Because our shop sits right on the parade route, we want to give everyone a heads-up about the impending road closure and heavy traffic.

Instead of getting stuck in gridlock, we invite you to make The POP! Shop your parade headquarters! Plan to arrive a little early to beat the road closures, grab a good parking spot, and come hang out inside while waiting for the parade to begin. You can browse our latest trading card singles, check out the new comic arrivals, or just talk shop with us until the floats and marching bands roll by. When the parade wraps up, let the traffic clear out while you sit down for a quick game.

Summer Holiday Hours: Time to Recharge

Building a welcoming brick-and-mortar community is our top priority, and that starts with taking care of the people behind the counter. To make sure our incredible staff gets the chance to step away, celebrate with their friends, and spend time with their families, we are implementing modified hours for the big three summertime holidays.

Instead of our usual weekly schedule, The POP! Shop will be open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on the following days:

• Memorial Day Monday, May 25th

• Independence Day Saturday, July 4th

• Labor Day Monday, September 7th

This summer carries a bit of extra historical weight. While we as pop culture connoisseurs enjoy milestones such as Pokémon's 30th Anniversary, we want to take a moment to note an even more venerable milestone. As we look ahead to July, the United States is gearing up to celebrate its Semiquincentennial - 250th anniversary - of the founding of the country!
