MTG | The Hobbit Prerelease

There is absolutely nothing like the energy of a packed game store on Prerelease weekend. We saw the incredible hype you brought to our Tales of Middle-earth events, and now we are transforming The POP! Shop once again to celebrate the launch of MTG x The Hobbit.

You won't get as much hesitation to join us at our tables as Bilbo had for the dwarves in the book. Be you from here in Sandusky or are making the overland trek from Huron, mine cards like a dwarf with a pickaxe, and experience the new mechanics with the local community.

A Gathering of Fellowships

Prerelease is a Sealed format event, meaning nobody has an unfair advantage. You will receive your kit, crack open your six boosters, and build a 40-card deck right at the table. It is the perfect environment to trade stories, admire foil pulls as if you found the Arkenstone, and figure out the new Dwarf synergies and Treasure mechanics together before the set officially hits the shelves.

Our staff will be on hand to help newer players with deck construction, and we always encourage a friendly, community-first atmosphere. Plus, we are sweetening the hoard! We will be adding extra MTG x The Hobbit Play boosters to the prize pool for every match you win during the event.
