Impossible Magic & Dice Gods: Paizo's Massive Summer Release Wave

Summer heat is a good reason to stay inside, roll some dice, and enjoy the air conditioning with your friends and family. Luckily, Paizo is dropping a massive wave of new releases starting on July 30 to keep your summer days (and nights) full of adventures that won't blister your skin or leave you allergic to meat and dairy for the rest of your life. From reality-warping spellbooks to a brand-new board game, the Pathfinder and Starfinder universes are expanding in a big way.

Here's a look at some of the newest loot hitting the shelves at The POP! Shop later this summer.

Pathfinder: Impossible Magic

Let's talk about the heavy hitter first. If your spellcaster is tired of tossing the same old cantrips, Pathfinder: Impossible Magic is about to become your new favorite rulebook. This massive tome introduces over 240 new spells to the game, including some reality-bending options that are so powerful they literally "Scar the Soul." It also shines a massive spotlight on four wonderfully unique magical classes: the Magus, the Necromancer, the Runesmith, and the Summoner.

This limited-edition hardcover features the original pencil sketch of the cover art, metallic deboss cover elements, and a bound-in ribbon bookmark. Pathfinder: Dice Gods Tabletop Game

Sometimes your group needs a break from heavy campaign roleplaying, but you still want to hang out in the Pathfinder universe. Pathfinder Dice Gods is a brand-new, fast-paced dice-drafting board game which can keep you entertained while focused on amazing fantasy storytelling.

You and your friends take on the roles of eight iconic gods from the Pathfinder pantheon. During your turn, you roll a unique 12-sided die to trigger symbols, play minigames, and chain your successes together for divine dominance. It plays in about 45 minutes and supports two to five players. That makes it the perfect warmup game to play while your GM finishes reviewing his or her encounter notes for the night.

The July drop includes a few extra treats for both fantasy and sci-fi fans.

If you love a good gothic horror setting, the Bastion of Blasphemies adventure path takes your party straight into Ustalav to explore the notorious haunted castle of Bastardhall and face off against the Black Coach. Horror isn't reserved for the Halloween season, after all.

For the sci-fi crowd, Starfinder Second Edition is getting some serious love. The new Starfinder: Absalom Station sourcebook gives you everything you need to run campaigns in the literal center of the galaxy. You can also pick up the new 54-card Starfinder Critical Hit Deck. Instead of just calculating basic double damage, you flip a card to cripple foes, damage their equipment, or trigger wild magical surges.
